Mystery Beer 25pk

Spending a rainy Friday afternoon inside watching movies with my lady I decided it was high time to hit up The Wine Source for libations. After a half dozen paces up and down their extensive beer aisle, indecisive as usual, I noticed a small sign hung next to their walk in fridge, above eye level, reading only “Mystery Beer 25pk 12.00″. Below it, on the floor, sat two cases. “That’s funny,” I thought to myself, “I’ve never noticed that sign before.” Was this some kind of special occasion? Again I paced the aisle looking for something that would quench my adventerous thirst, all the while thinking of the mystery case. “Damn, 25 beers for $12 is pretty rediculous” I pondered, “Even if the beers are aweful that’s only 50 cents a beer … and beer gets you drunk … but what if it’s full of hard cider? Or non-alcoholic beer? Or Coor’s Light?” A mental tug-of-war full of percentages and price tags ensued until finally my overall indecisiveness prevailed. I decided to purchase the mystery case.

It’s easy to see that on a first pass the mystery case was a crazy deal. Maybe it just was a stroke of good luck? Perhaps?!

PS! Just as I finished editing this, no joke, my flatmate Ryan came home with the other mystery case! What are the odds? Upon inspection it looks like our cases were almost identical. Maybe we both got lucky? I’ll have to buy it again, next time I see it, to say for sure …
