I took this photo with my cellphone camera. I learned that by breathing on the lens I could make a pretty cool soft focus effect.

Beatbots + Cellblock = Photo Message Boarding

A few weeks ago, we introduced a new Cellblock API, which allows third party web developers to power mobile photo / video blogging on any website, using Cellblock’s technologies. I wanted to give this new technology a test drive on Beatbots.com, so I created a nifty little message board widget that allows people to post photos to the message board in real time from their cell phones or desktop email clients. I’m interested to see how people will take to it.

This dude’s stuff is awesome. I’ve experimented with this kind of image manipulation myself, but never with such beautiful results. The composition in some of these is off the chains.

Lightning Bolt @ Starlight Ballroom

Last Friday me, Raven, Matt and Alyson saw Lightning Bolt with Boredoms in Philly. The place was packed and about a million degrees with the combined body heat. The photo on the left is the closest I could (wanted) to get to the action. The one on the right is from where I watched their set. If you look close, you can see them in the upper left hand corner.

BUFF project Update

BUFF project

I shot the majority of these on Sunday afternoon at 3pm in direct sunlight. That explains the somewhat washed out look to them. They were all shot in the alleys of Charles Village, in the hot hot mid afternoon heat. I’m not happy with the framing on a couple of them, but overall the set is aight.
